Society tries to make majority of people in this world believe that in order to be beautiful one has to be a certain height, wear makeup, or have a certain skin tone. Though height comes modeling opportunities, and makeup hides blemishes… there are other ways an individual can be classified as lovely, elegant, charming, or gorgeous. See, if one has to be tall to be lovely, then I would never be beautiful.
When I see somebody walk past me on the street I automatically try and catch a smile from them, and from there I examine their sense of style and what makes them… well, them. Everyone even myself classifies someone as beautiful by how a woman does her makeup, hair or by how she dresses. See beauty is way more than that. Beauty is about ones personality and how they carry themselves. Beauty is experience and their story that will possibly inspire someone someday. A person is beautiful by how they react to life’s greatest challenges, and how they are true to themselves. Beauty is their smile.
To many I’m not recognized by my personality, but more by my short stature body. Anywhere I go I stand out from the crowd because this body only stands 4’1″ above the ground. I’m not tall, a model, an athlete. To many I am not “normal,” and that can’t just be. People can’t just settle with that. They need an explanation. They need a reason to why I don’t look like the typical woman. Well, truth is… I’m not normal, but neither are you.
There is no normal, only average, but who wants to be just that?
